Sore throat - ars question

I had possible HIV exposure in late march - brief unprotected vaginal sex with sex worker in Thailand. I did not ejaculate; she was quite dry inside. I don't know whether that matters but I mention it just in case.

27 days after potential exposure I got a sore throat. It lasted only one day. My mouth feels dry and my tongue - especially the underside - is coated, but my throat no longer hurts. No fever, no rash, no muscle aches. Some malaise.

Based on everything I've read, this does not sound like ARS. My symptoms are mild and not multiple.  But I read on wikipedia that sometimes symptoms can be mild, so I'm starting to really worry. I'd appreciate any advice. I'm quite scared.

Thank you both. Please forgive me for being a pest, but I want to ask 2 followups:

1. I know ARS usually appears 2-4 weeks after exposure. Should the fact that my symptoms appeared on the last day of that period be reassuring or is it irrelevant?

2. Do ARS symptoms ever mimic cold symptoms -- sore throat, phlegm buildup, stuffed nose? Again, I have no fever, rash, myalgia.

I'm fairly sure I have a mild cold. But I live in a central Asian country with very poor healthcare, so I don't have access to good facilities. I will fly to Europe for testing at 3 months. For now though, I'm trying to cope with the isolation. Thank you again; I won't post on this again.

No it does not sound like ARS. If one has ARS it comes 2-4 weeks post exposure and lasts 1-2 weeks.

1. Wikipedia is junk
2. You can never use symptoms or lack of symptoms
3. if you get symptoms you will most likely get a fever.
4. test at 3 months for a conclusive result, 6-8 week test for a good indication.
