Proper use of condoms...? If it doesn't break does that mean your good?

I keep reading about proper use of condoms.

I read a thread where Teak says proper use means: 1. stored properly (I assume not in wallet) 2. pinching the top to release air 3. using lube 4. checking expiration date

Now what if I used a condom that violated each of these rules but it DID NOT BREAK.

Did my condom use protect me?

Meaning, like, when Teak lists those 4 it means correct use so that the chances it will break are low?

Bottom line, if the condom doesn't break then did it work?
