Can a false positive monospot test be caused by an underlying hiv infection that is still in the window period even though my 11 week hiv antibody test was negative. my first monospto test was positive and i had the dr repeat it 2 days later and it was negative. the EBV panel was negative also. can an underlying undetected becuase in windoe period still cause a false positive monospot test. I have read some things on the internet that says it can and they were medical sites like medicinenet.com and ect. have u seen similar data or can you find out

Your monospot test has nothing to do with your HIV test. You tested negative at 12 weeks for HIV which means you are conclusively negative.

what does that mean. does that mean that my hiv antibody test which was negative at 12 weeks wrong and my monospot test which was positive at 12 weeks is right and i am infected with hiv and not mono. but my second mono test was negative. i thought the negative hiv antibody test at 12 weeks mean its is conclusive and that the monospot test was truly a false positive. can a monospot test be false positive for mono but positive bc it found hiv antibodies but the antibody tes conducted two days before the mono test was negative.

It would not be considered a "false positive" if you had an HIV infection.
