Terrrified, Looking for Advice
I'm a 29 year old straight male. 25 days ago I had vaginal sex with a prostitute. We used a condom. However, it broke because her vagina was extremely dry. I realized it immediately and pulled out. She then gave me unprotected oral sex.
On day 7, I began to feel superficial burning on my penis and testicles. About day 9, I began to fell intense pressure on my testicles. It felt like they were being crushed. About day 10 I began to feel pressure in my lower abdomin. Since then I have had body aches in my neck and back.
I went for a chlamydia and ghonerria urine test on day 7. However, the results came back negative. I then had a rapid HIV test today, day 25. It was also negative.
However, two days ago I started to get a dry, burning sore throat. Now I'm really starting to freak out. This has all been too much for me. I can't sleep. I can't eat. I'm having panic attacks. I don't know what to do. Can anybody offer their advice please?

hi worried, i had a similar exposure to yours and i just recieved councelling this morning for 2 hours from one of the best HIV clinic here in my city. you would have to believe, i paid $120 for the exact same words what gates and dobber had to tell you, i'd suggest you one more thing test for possible std's , once you get a negative result for the same. you could simply forget about HIV there after, because HIV is very fragile unlike other STD's

You're HIV negative, your exposure was far, far too brief for transmission to have occurred.
If you're having a burning sensation in the tip of your penis, it could be a UTI, not serious, but maybe you should check that out with your doc.

Relax dude. You had protected sex for the most part, regardless of if the condom broke and you were inside her unprotected for a few seconds. Besides, even if she was infected with HIV, the odds of you getting it from an exposure of unprotected sex is 1 in 2000, and the odds are even greater since you weren't inside her unprotected for very long. In addition to that, your symptoms are not at all suggestive of HIV.
Another thing that should comfort you: Dr. Handsfield over on the Doctor-Patient forum says that in 25 years of seeing patients at his hospital and seeing thousands of patients each year, he has never once seen someone test HIV-positive after only one event of unprotected sex. The vast majority of men who acquire HIV from women are the regular sex partners of an HIV-positive woman and have had many, many, many unprotected sexual episodes with them. And even in those cases alot of the men don't get infected. You can relax bro.
