Test question

I tested a little over 110 days post incident when women took a tube of blood from vein. I did not get results until five business days later. It was negative. If they did not do test right of way should I question it. They said I was fine but my body might be fighting infection. Test was negative. The only thing I currently feel is a little soreness under arm pit now.

Your thinking is irrational. Your test is conclusive.

What do you mean? I am not questioning the labs protocol! I am saying that blood was taken at point a at night time taken to clinic in morning and by afternoo (12 pm) was shipped via car to the lab. I am just saying that blood was left unattended fir some time unattended before being handled and sent to point b (clinic) then lab by 12 noon. I am afraid antibodies became deteorated by temperature changes and fluctuations.

Maybe I have a really high blood found and temp changes made them undetectable, and antibodies became undetectable too!

Like I said test was actually performed about day three after blood taken, maybe late day two.

I am worried blood sample in vial spoiled just like food making it no good.

Lady at clinic said that if something was wrong with blood sample in vial the laboratory would have requested and new one and that if antibodies were present nothing would have happened.

absolutely ridiculous and irrational for you to be questioning the lab's protocol.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

I am just afraid because blood was not taken to lab right away. It went to one location over night and then to clinic in morning and then lab. The lady took a whole vial blood from me. I am afraid the blood being room temparature and then perhaps underrefrigirated could have killed white blood cells (which means there were really high) or made antibodies disappeared or DETEORATED to the point of nonrecognition.

WBC is 12.3 but of is x10E3/ul (units). 3.8 - 10.8 range. (this seems a little high)
Platelet count is 306 of x10E3/ uL (units ) 140 - 400 range.
Absolute neutrophil count is 8.3! Of x10E3/ uL (units ) 1.5 -7.8 range.
Neutrophils 68.2 of 45 - 75 range.
Monocytes 5.7 of 0 - 10 range.
Absolute monocytes is 0.7 of      x10E3/ uL (units ) 0.2 - 1.0 range.
Lymphocytes 25.2 of 18 to 46 range.
Absolute lymphocytes 3.0   x10E3/ uL (units ) 0.9 - 3.9 range.
Protein was 8.6 g/do units 6.4 of 8.3 range!

Plus non reactive for the above diseases at about a couple of days over 120 days. As I said before test was done at third (maybe late second) after blood was drawn. I did not get results till end of wee, five business dats, worried about above.

Worried about antibodies deteorating as stated above??? High WBC, and neutrophil count???

Yes, trust your results! There is no problem with testing this way. Your test didn't get messed up in the mail or sitting out at the lab...if you had HIV your antibody would not go away sending it to the lab for testing, cold or hot weather doesn't matter!

If you wish I can post test results with tests they done. My main concern is that blood was taken at night vial taken to clinic in morning and droped off at LAN by noon. Test was done about third day (maybe late second post blood taken out). I did not get results till end of week 5 business days.

I am concerned of antibodies disappearing due temperature changes. They did not even give me a value reading just non reactive!

Do you think I should accept results? Do you think this is anxiety making me think this stuff? Last question.

No you should not worry people test everyday and wait through the process too, your not alone there...
Trust your negative result and that you do not have HIV!

Thank you for responding in other post. I am worried because my test was not done right away. I also believe it was left out of refrigeration for sometime and then put in refrigeration. I also don't know on what conditions it was when it finally got laboratory. I know that they did a general blood test (that they do for people looking for immigration, but I had not immigration issues but that is ok). They did a general blood check, kidney check, HIV, syphilis, and some other stuff.

I know HIV can live outside body, but in a syringe it can live a long time. So I am hoping since blood was in an airtight vial enough antibodies would have survived to be detected. I am wooried about temperature changes killing antibodies and days passing making antibodies disappear. Cna told not to worry cause if something was wrong lab would request another sample.

I thought I had all symptoms of both diseases but I was told non reactive. Oh yea correction, on other post I checked dates, my test was done a couple of days over 120 days (so I guess that is good).

I am afraid news to good to be true. Should I worry.

Your negative test is conclusive. You don,t have Hiv.5 business days is not that long to wait, some test results come back in 2 weeks,it depends on the clinic.
