Hey, thanks for the help in advance.
Background: I was seeing someone for a few months back in January/February. We had had the conversation about STD's, when we were last checked. He indicated that he has an annual physical for work and gets STD testing, in addition he indicated that he hadn't had sex since his last monogomous relationship which was 5 years before we met. I too was in the same position, but had a full STD panel done last year and everything came back negative (not surprised).
Then I decided to end the relationship at 3 months because he wasn't the guy for me. One weekend we had unprotected sex (I was on birth control, but no condoms were used). I don't know why, but 6 weeks later I started to get anxiety about not using condoms with him.
So, I did an oral/saliva quick check at home at 6 weeks - NEAGTIVE
At 6.5 weeks I still wasn't satisfied so I paid and went to a hospital and did a PCR RNA test - NEGATIVE
At 9.5 weeks I had to do my PAP test, so naturally I told my physician and brought my results from the previous PCR RNA test and had a full STD panel done including a 4TH Generation blood test. Everything came back NEGATIVE.
However, my physician told me at 6 months I should come in and do another blood test. I have Hypothyroidism but no other clinical or medical issues.
Since then I have had one other sexual partner but it was oral sex and we did have vaginal sex twice but with condoms, and to be honest, I'm not concerned about this encounter for more obvious reasons, in that it was protected sex.
I am wondering why my physician would tell me to come back at the 6 month mark to do another test? From what I have read on the forums and elsewhere, my results should be conclusive. Is that not the case? Should I be worried?
Thanks for the help.
