Testing

So I've been reading on this forum for months and had a question. I know off all the risk of acquiring HIV! I am getting ready to have my 7 months test! My last test was at 4 months and I have had no sexual activity since. My question is what are the chances of my test now being positive since my 4 month negative? I know we are told not to go on symptoms but I am having quite a few. My 4 month test was a 4th generation test at a lab! I have been very upset and scared!

You would easily get infections and possibly be in the Hospital for a simple infection like the common cold.

Sorry let me just give a little input here. Even in the event your body does not produce antibodies you will still test positive on the 4th gen test. Because it will detect the antigen. That is no longer an issue in 4th gen testing. You are hiv negative move on with your life.

Your 4 month test is conclusive you do not have HIV. The only reason you would show up positive at 6 months would be if you already have a compromised immune system. Today's HIV test are highly accurate to be used at 3 mo this 6 months is overkill!

I've read your threads and I don't know if you take private messages but I had a few questions not related to HIV but more torward sex addiction. If you are open to talking. If not that's ok and understand you are busy!

Thank you very much for your advice. I've called so many places and tried to ask around but they are all afraid to give 100 percent straight advice, they beat around the bush I'm guessing so they can't be at fault if for some rare chance it does change! I will still get the test since I already paid and hope for the best! I truly feel that after this test my mind will finally be at ease.

I have not been active for the 7 months I guess it's anxiety based and reading online that 6 month is closer to 100 percent accurate! Thank you for your reassurance! I know 6 months is for rare cases but I can't help but to think what if that's me!

You do not have hiv if you tested 4 months after any exposure. You do not need to test at 7 months not unless you had a new exposure.
