Testing after 5 weeks?

Hi there,

I felt like I did something a bit risky and decided to have a hiv test done last week but I only waited 5 weeks after the incident.  Does anyone know how reliable a test is after this time.  I read that antibodies show up after 30 days in most people - is this true?

Also, I realise you can't go off this, but do most people have some symptoms after infection?

Kind regards.

Yes, most people would test positive by this time, 95% or so.
Yes, most infected people have some symptoms 2-4 weeks after infection
