This question goes to Vance, I noticed that yesterday in a post to the user called whitehouse you told her that she was basicly lied to and you said after 8 weeks her results were conclusive. I will post the link below, but I was wondering is it true are those the new guidelines how are you so confident?

I meant the BASHH have reduced the guidelines for a 4th Gen test from 4 to 12 week's to 4 to 8 week's.

Here in Britain the BASHH (the British equivalent to the CDC) have reduced to the GEN test guidelines to 8 weeks from 12 week's for a very high risk exposure.
This is important for shows that they believe all antibodies will show by 8 weeks.
This means that in the years to come that indeed the official guidelines for a 3rd GEN test will indeed be reduced to 8 week's.
The expert Dr's on this forum have always said the 12 week guideline rule is out dated and ultra conservative.

I beleive the CDC is very conservative in it's recommendations and the Dr's have real world experience in what they have seen and the tests they have done and things they have read.

CDC just recently got on board with the DUO test that has been widley used in Euroupe for years now.

Vance do you trust the specialists more or the recommendations of the CDC?

Whoever the woman spoke to that told her that HIV can lay dormant for 5-10 years without showing on a test is either an idiot or just lying.

I take the 8 week test conclusivness from the Dr's who were posting in the Expert forums. So while the guideling for an antibody test is still 3 months todays lab tests will be conclusive after 8 weeks, probably even 6 weeks. And a DUO test at 28 days.
