Just came across this link on CDC website, its only a few weeks old (http://www.cdc.gov/eid/content/15/1/129.htm).
This happened in Rhode Island, Im only a 3 hour drive from there. This is what scares me, even though its higly unlikely, it is possible to have HIV and it can't be detected by current daignostic tests in the USA. Its a very rare case Yes but it is actually possible. How does the saying go: "Just because your paraniod, doesn't mean they are not out to get you"? How could it be that I have every symptom/sign/ of HIV in the correct chronological order(including my wife's mirroring symptoms without knowledge of the situation). And all of these things started soon after a non fungal/bacterial balanitis issue, following a risky sexual encounter? Followed by the fact my lymph nodes still all hurt, balantis is still there, waking wide awake at 3-4 in the am, burning sensation in palms etc. etc. My Test results are incorrect!! Never had a sore throat so I belive that rules out Mono right? Im not a hypochondraic and rarely take my health to seroiusly as I have alway been in great shape and good health. Something is very very wrong. I have had the flu/ stomach viruses before, never felt the things going on inside like I have over past 2 months. 12 weeks is conclusive, this I know. But I have a 9 week antibody/ dna pcr both negative it should be a home run, I can't see that changing in 3 weeks right? Unfortunatley I fear I am one of those rarest of rare cases and my luck has run out. I think Ill get a negative test past 3 months, go on with my life, start to get sick in a couple of years and Doc will say " oh well you have one of the newer rare strains, it wouldnt have come up on a test back in Feb 09" ***** for you ! Oh yeah and by the way your wife and kids have it too dude. Or just as bad: in 3 or 4 weeks I test again and its positive and I was just an unlucky slow seroconverter with a strain not picked up by PCR-DNA. Is getting struck by lightning rare? Yes, Do people get struck by lightning every year? Yes. ll spare you further rant as Im sure you have heard similar ones before. So I guess after all this I really only have one question. 1) Will HIV infection steadily change cd4/cd8/lymphocytes so that over a year or two if monitored I pattern will reveal if infected?
