Oral sex - multiple encounters / recurring symptoms

Dear folks,

I am a 46 yr male, and have had multiple encounters (almost 12 times in the last 4 years),  of receiving oral sex with condom with unknown partners, but once without it, where a little bit of saliva touched the tip.  During the same encounters,  I also received anal fingering once, and also engaged in lip kissing and sucking on her nipples.  After having read so much on the oral sex no risk for hiv topics,  yet I am compelled to ask this because i keep coming down with some or the other symptoms recurring - over the last few years (and most recently mild fever with chills for last two days),  and in the past, cold, cough, tiredness etc.  I am really anxious and scared to get tested.

What are the risks if I wore a used condom,  and the condom itself had come into prior contact with other fluids?

Do any of the above is a risky encounter ?

Please advise and help me.  Could mono or other std's (other than hiv) cause these  recurring symptoms?

Thanks much
Ed

As you have been told, you had no risk for hiv and testing isn't warranted.
However if that doesn't satisfy, a 4th generation test 28 days post exposure will be conclusive.
I wouldn't say ignore your symptoms but they are not hiv related.
A negative HIV test will confirm that and then you can confidently look elsewhere for what's causing them.
It's not out of the question anxiety is the blame for all or part of your issues.

Trust the experts, trust the research. Oral sex is no risk to virtually zero risk. If you had unprotected sex, you'd definitely require testing. But, oral sex risk is too low to warrant testing.

Just click on this link: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV---Prevention/Indertermediate-OraQuick-Results--Scared/show/405844

You will see that stress that I went through in 2008. It was from unprotected BJ. You will see that testing wasn't warranted and I still went ahead and tested and BAM it was inconclusive. From that point, you will see how much panic I was in and how many more testing I had to do in order to convince myself that I was indeed negative.

Trust me, just ignore the symptoms. I know you're going through stress/anxiety and if you go for testing and if it turns out to be false positive or inconclusive...you won't be able to tolerate it. Instead, just take deep breath, put this behind you and calm your nerves. Then just go for regular yearly check up to the doctor and have him/her test you out for everything. I am planning on doing exact same thing next year. This year, I am not ready to get tested. I will just do it next year.

Dear Naseeb,

Thank you for your reassuring reply.  I tend to concur with you on most of that,  but when symptoms like low grade fever, cold, cough keep recurring, it scares me, although as you stated, it may be just the stress which is bringing my immunity down in general.

Any risk if it  was a used condom,  and the condom itself had come into prior contact with other fluids?   I know it's not practical,  but my mind keeps playing havoc with all these thoughts and stress me more.

Thanks,
Ed

Dude -- I myself have had received multiple unprotected BJ's from many girls. From all my research and the guidance of follow members, I can tell for sure that oral sex is no risk.

And, please pay no attention to symptoms. I've been receiving endless symptoms like boils, itchy scalp, sores in mouth, gingivitis etc and all leads back to HIV.

Just stop googling symptoms in general and move on with your life.

I am also too scared to get tested but I know that low risk activity such as sucking nipple or unprotected BJ's doesn't warrant HIV testing.

Trust me, it is stress that will kill you not HIV. Just move on.

Also, would like to add that many times, the protected oral sex was very rough including biting, gagging and saliva.  I am most concerned about a possible re-used condom during some of these encounters.  Would exposure to air inactivate the virus?

Please advise.
