Testing with a shorter window period

I posted a question here earlier regarding this but I can't find it. Are there any tests available that one can take and feel confident with in less than 3 months? I believe there are but are they tests that require a blood draw? Can they be rapid tests? As far as tests that test with oral fluids, is 3 months the only option?

Excellent, as I told you before, a 4th gen test 4-6 weeks after exposure is extremely unlikely to change.

I never said that, I was talking about 3rd and 4th gen tests in general.

You should ask the available options in your local clinic or lab.

For example, in my country (Colombia), 4th gen test aren't available as quick tests, you can only take them in labs and the results would take some days. And there is no way to get oral tests here, they aren't legal yet.

Thank you for the response! I'm assuming these are blood tests that require a blood draw?

They're available in different forms, quick tests requiere a few drops from a finger prick, others require a bigger blood sample, like most lab tests,  there are oral tests too.

Hello, third and fourth gen Elisa tests are among the most common ones nowadays, according to CDC, any HIV test is conclusive if taken 12 weeks after an exposure, but you can take them before that, 3rd gen will give you an excellent indicator about your status around 6-8 weeks after exposure and 4th gen 4-6 weeks after exposure. A result given in those times is very unlike to change, but only a doctor, based on your risk level and his experience could advice you to skip the confirmatory test after 12 weeks post exposure.
