Urgent! Need help!

Last night I had sex with a ladyboy in Thailand. I was heavily intoxicated and am not sure if the condom was used properly. Should i go on pep? I barely remember what happened.

Thanks for the reply,

I only remember the part she told me to pull out. I asked her the next morning. She said condom broke twice and she is positive. She is not on treatment too as she couldn't afford it. I don't know how long i had been exposed.

I just wanted to know how efficient is PEP. What is the success rate of PEP if taken in 10 hours? I have some side effects from the PEP, diarrhea and nausea, but i would rather take it for a month than forever. I was wondering if anyone went through same thing.

How did the condom "break twice"? If it breaks, it splits wide open down the seam the first time.
You can go to the manufacturer's site or maybe Mayoclinic or Wikipedia for PEP efficacy info.

I was put on Truvada and Rilpivirine after confirmed HIV exposure, through vaginal and anal intercourse. How effective is PEP when started after 10 hours from the exposure?

I have been sick for last couple months. I have been using alcohol and cigarette. My immune system has not been at its normal. Would it affect PEP success chances?

Thank you,
I appreciate your thoughts

PEP has serious risks because of potential side effects.
If the head of your penis was covered by the condom then you had no risk. Only you can make that decision, but it seems unlikely the head could have slipped out and the condom still be on.
HIV is inactivated in air, so it doesn't matter how it is put on, if that is what you are worried about when you say  "....used properly." It is only the inserted sex that can cause HIV transmission, and if the condom covers the head you were safe.
