HIV Status

Hi,

These questions have been asked many times before i'm sure but i cant get it out of my mind,

I had unprotected sex with a csw a few times 9 weeks ago,

had a negative HIV 1/2 ab.ag at 6.5 weeks and a 2 negative oraquick rapid at 8 week's,

Doctor said these will not change, i guess i should trust him,

i had night sweats a couple of weeks after, but i have just quit alcohol and recreational drugs at the same time plus i have been put on citalopram for my anxiety so i'm guessing it's down to this,

Anyone give me some reassurance?

Results and symptoms always disagree. Most people develop antibodies by weeks 4-6. Your test are accurate. You can’t base hiv of off symptoms the best way to know is to get tested, which you’ve already done. I personally am going through a similar situation i had unprotected sex with a stripper and i tested negative at 10 days with PCR RNA test and a negative test at 39 days. Trust your test results, your mind can play tricks on you if you continue to worry and have anxiety.

Yea thanks heeps, its been an insane rollercoaster of emotion's lately and 24/7 googling symptoms online! i think my anxiety had got the better of me but nice to hear it from someone else!
This is not correct and does not make sense - "Results and symptoms always disagree." You are negative just like your doctor told you, so you need to move on instead of perpetual reading on forums.
Your anxiety is a mental health issue so see a therapist since you don't believe your doctor or anything that you have read. Another thing to discuss with the therapist is that despite you having no medical training, you have an unrealistic confidence in your ability to diagnose disease and no faith in professionals.
Thanks for your reply, completely understand
