Working in China and SCARED

Hello everyone-This is my first time to post here...well...let me get to it. about four weeks ago I had a high risk encounter with a female sex worker I am ashamed to say. A condom was used throughout the duration of this encounter but it slipped a little midway through and was promptly replaced. Yet my penis had the scent of vaginal fluid afterward so it was thoroughly cleaned within minutes. I've been tested for HIV at two and three weeks but each test has been negative. My third week test was negative for HIV, but this time I was tested for other STDs and it came back positive for Chlamydia.Would that delay seroconversion though? Guess you could say that my cervical lymph nodes feel a bit swollen and I've been having mild "Global tongue". So far there has been no fever, loose bowels or rash on my skin aside from some stuff recently on my hands and something that looks like like fever blisters on my lip. Also did a CBC last week that was unremarkable aside from "Lym%20.8" and "Lym#1.4". Both are at the lower end of the normal range . My complete WBC was 6.7x10^9/L

My questions are-Would I have had a fever by this point? and- Would a lower than normal Lymphocyte count indicate acute HIV?My stress is super high-This is made all the worse by being in a foreign country away from family and friends! Nothing could be worth this kind of stress.

Alright, that is fair enough though my concerns are based out of a genuinely inquisitive nature since there is no way for me to know. HIV Ag/Ab is not available where I am in China, only Elisa generation 3.How accurate is my Elisa test five weeks out? Sources conflict, yet its something like 75-85%+ retest at three months?

Noticed spots on the back of my tongue today...has really got me scared. Going to the main hospital to do a HIV1/2 AbAg combination test to put this to rest...or to deal with the results. Is there any test I can take at this point that I can deem conclusive?

I know that the regulars here say that my risk for HIV was low or non-existent, but all these symptoms lately have got me spooked and are very real!

Ha-more good news today~! My four weeks+(32day) test was negative for HIV and the Chlamydia test this time was inconclusive instead of positive meaning its going away. Maybe its just something residual, or the Levofloxacin/Ceftriaxone IV (thats how they do things in China)for my prostate I've been given lately-but my stomach is messed up to the point where I have no appetite. But it seems whatever risk I had for HIV is rapidly declining. Who knows what generation test they are using in this Chinese hospital though? According to them it is high tech, so I'll test again in another two weeks and be done with it hopefully.

It's not HIV.

We will know for sure tomorrow. It's just that my lymph nodes on my neck and under my arms really are enlarged, not obviously but enough for a doctor to say so. What other conditions could cause such a thing?

YOU ARE ALREADY IN THE CLEAR!

You cannot compare getting Chlamydia with HIV, VERY different diseases with very different transmission mechanisms.  Chlamydia is MUCH MUCH easier to get than HIV.

Your test will be negative.

The results from my test will be available day after tomorrow...Going to be a long day tomorrow. So if I have not had a fever after four weeks, which 90% of people with acute HIV have, means I am in the clear?

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

perhaps its just a bit of flutters before the test, but I was thinking  that if I had enough exposure to contract Chlamydia that was definitely enough to get HIV...even though the condom didn't slip more than 1.5cm. Cough came back today and it seems the Herpes-like stuff next to my lip is not spreading but healing. Well, just have to keep faith in God-his will be done.

"Yes, but I am suspecting this woman had sabotaged the condom or something"

IF your partner had sabatoged the condom, the condom would've broken.  Your condom remained intact, which means the sex was protected.  Condoms break very obviously.  There would be no question about it.

One can NEVER EVER go by "symptoms" when gauging an HIV risk.  NEVER.  That info is all over this forum, and the doc's forum.  MANY newly infected people never even experience symptoms.  The only people who ever seem to have them are the people who are anxious about an encounter...and they ultimately test NEG.

Your test will be negative.  You need to stop reading on the internet...I can tell you are b/c of the terminology you use in your first post.  All web searching is going to do is increase your anxiety.

FINALLY, if for some reason, you were + (which you are not), your GF could not have gotten infected by what you describe.

Yes, but I am suspecting this woman had sabotaged the condom or something. My girlfriend has reported to me that has has started to feel some of the lymph nodes in the left side of her neck starting to swell. I am worried since about a week ago there was a cut on my hand and she had put the blood into her mouth on impulse. Going to test again but I am bracing for the worst. Any good support groups to hold me over till I get back to the states?

if the head of your penis remained protected...you did not have a risk.
