Wounds exposed to semen

I had a small cut on one of my fingers about the size of 2 pinpricks put together, it was not bleeding and from what I remember it was probably about 1 day old and more like a scratch, perhaps from earlier that day. And it came in contact with semen from a person that I met online and later we had a sexual encounter, I masturbated him.

Right after he ejaculated I cleaned the sperm from my hand, and about 5 minutes later I washed my hands with alcohol. Considering the chance of him being HIV+, what are the chances of having been exposed to the virus through that cut?

Ah, well that I did not know. I appreciate this information, although it does not REALLY answer my question...The question was, and is: For how long can the HIV virus survive outside a host? (Of course "timewise")

aogm720401, what are you talking about? There is no AIDS virus. HIV when exposed to air, temperature change and Ph change stops the virus's ability to be infectious.

I have always had this next question and you may know the answer, although I have read something about it, I have reached no actual answer: For how long can the HIV/AIDS virus survive outside a host?

Hi there,

I do care and like to read/"listen"...hehehe

Just remember, when you can not control...your sexual behaviour.....do not put yourself at such risk. Use condom for vaginal and anal sex. If you are more "worries' type, use it even for oral.  Condoms when used correctly and consistently, provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV.

Cheers!

Thank you for taking the time to answer this question. You may not care about what you are going to read next, but I have promised myself to be a more intelligent person when it comes to life threatening issues. It is just a matter of having one's thoughts clouded by instinctual behavior when it comes to sex that neesd to be controlled, or not become engaged at all in sexual activities.

Well, technically you will need to kind of chop of your finger and its bleeding badly....while you let him "spray" his semen all over it.........and... that is still very low risk......

hence, for your "pin *****"....hahaha.....no rsik at all...........

Thanks for the reply...usually the "open cut" or "fresh wound" concepts become very confusing...as in: "does it have to be bleeding?" or "does it have to be just broken skin, regardless of it bleeding or not?"
