Sexual Exposure and sickness

I am writing this for my brother who is at sea deployed since july in the US navy.  He can read the forums but he really cant type anything because all out going emails are monitored. So he asked me to post this. He is 40 heterosexual non iv drug user. He is planning to get tested once he docks back in the US next month. He is affraid of getting tested on the ship because of privacy issues.  His last test was NEG in summer of 07. Before he deployed he was with about 5 women. All unprotected oral and Protected vaginal.  All non sex workers.  His problem is since he left in july all has been fine except 24 hour flu in Jan and this month he came down with a low grade fever and terrible fatigue and terrible body aches.  he has had this for about 2 weeks.  No swollen glands he noticed.  also terrible back pains and stiff joints..  the question I have is can this be anything associated with HIV his last exposure was June 08. He said always protected vaginal  but lots of foreplay lots of fluids all over.  No other smptoms til Jan. ANd he knows only way to find out is test and he will when he gets a shore in the US in april.  But he is looking for  a little reasurrance and an experts opinion.   He thanks you and he can read the forums form the Boat.
