continued symptoms negative test

I had a low risk encounter on November 16th. I subsequently tested negative for hiv at 4,8 and 12 weeks. In addition I tested negative for syphilis , chlamydia and gonorrhea. All great news.
Shortly after the encounter I developed a bad flu ,thrush , terrible sore throat and a terrible peripheral neuropathy in my feet and hands. I am not diabetic and my neurologist has no explanation for the pain
iwas terribly anxious and depressed during  this period.
Everything has resolved except the peripheral nerve pain, which has made it very difficult to wear shoes .
My question is whether anyone has seen nerve pain like this in similar situations ,while being negative ,and whether it ever improves.

Trust your test reports, you do not have HIV. HIV related illness never develop shortly after the exposure, it requires 2-4 weeks to appear.

Suggest you to see a physician to get your issues addressed, and for sure, these complaints are not due to HIV

Wow this sounds exactly like my story.  You are definitly negative for HIV. If you have been having a lot of stress, look into possibly having candida overgrowth. If you have thrush or other anal / rectal itching. It could be something you could look into.

That is interesting, I did have thrush and rectal itching. This could be from Candida? That is interesting. I was treated w fluconazole. but the symptoms continue...thanks

Rectal itching can also be caused by eczema and/or anxiety. Not all genital complaints are related to STD's

I basically had the same thing, I waited 3-6 months testing for stds, but a positive result never came. I now have low testosterone and still some rectal itching. But yes I believe that sexually transmitted candida has been the source of all my bizarre symptoms. Still working on it, it's been 8 months.

Could be systemic candida. Possible ask for doctor for an antifungal, or use herbal stuff. All the best!

these things have helped to boost my immune system to the point where it is controlling some of my symptoms .some strange occurances happend when i first took the kiefer it seemed as though it killed  a bunch of  candida in my stomach .the next morning i had a movement and when i got up i was amazed to see the bowl was full completly to the rim with stool it was airated and flaky .i never even knew that it came out.it actually scared me .but it never happend again after that.my stool was soft and very light colored the glutamine has seemed to help immensly .still i am not digesting properly .undigested food in my stool but the glutamine has caused it to become darker and less undigested food appears in it now.also i dont have to eat as much where before i was eating up to 18 3 course meals in a day and no less then 10 now i feel a little better.slightly more energy.

my throat was feeling very strange and every time i ate anything with sugar it caused my throat to get sore so i would chew mint gum or drink peppermint tea ,or green tea .in between brushing i would take coconut oil wich also seemed to kill bacteria in the mouth and throat and reduce the painful discomfort that ocurred.st johns also seems to help possibly by keeping mood positive and optimizing immune function .everyone knows that stress can tax your immune system .you would think that drs would supply this information to their patients .
