do you think I need a hiv test?

Dear Doctor,

I am from Taiwan and I have a question with different answers in my country, actually, I have an ulcer in our oral and I was kissing with a hiv infection guy with saliva exchange, it took about 2~3 seconds, do I need a hiv test after the window period? I am so trouble right now, thanks for your kindly attention.

this is not the "expert" forum...so you won't find a dr here.

kissing is not a risk for contracting hiv.  here are some quotes from the hiv specialists here at medhelp:

"Kissing is no risk, even deep ("French") kissing and even with a person who sores on their mouth or has gum or dental disease."   DR HOOK

"Of course no risk. HIV is not transmitted by kissing, even with sores in the mouth.

Despite the billions of kissing events in the AIDS era, not one case of HIV has been known to be transmitted that way, even though millions of those kisses undoubtedly were with cuts in the mouth or on the lips."

I'm not a doctor but you did not have a hiv risk. if you still feel afraid, you can test at 6 weeks but you don't need a test if that's what all you did.

As Lizzie explained to you, you never had a risk and you do not need testing for HIV.
