false positive

hi, hopefully tomorrow i get my hiv test results.sometimes i think about it and get panickes or fraked out or anxous something my mind goes crazy thinking. i'm scared of getting a false positive result. does that happen??if it does how frequent??. thanks

ok i got my results back,it says
hiv 1/0/2 abs-icma
hiv 1/0/2 abs-index value <1.00
index value: specimen reactivity relative to the negative cutoff.
hiv 1/0/2 abs, qual   non reactive

is that negative??? if someone knows can they answer. i did them in laboratoyry no doctors

does anyone know if test results take longer to get back is it that is probably positive?

i haven't gotten my test results back. damn it! this sucks, i got back vdrl and it was non reactive and got white cells count and all of the other blood tests seem fine. but still no hiv test back maybe tomorrow i'm tired of waiting and being sleeping bad always thinking bad stuuf this is defenitely a lesson can't wait to get a good night sleep

You didn't need a test you never had a risk to begin with.

Yes false positives do happen, when you get a positive result you get a Western Blot test which is a confirmation test.
