until the guideline changes...3 months is conclusive.
And yes they do dictate our response on this forum.
This is not a member-moderated forum. No individual member can dictate
"what this forum goes by".
The opening thread clearly states that the criteria is established by Medhelp's doctors (see below), which maintain that tests 6-8 weeks after exposure are conclusive.
* This HIV Community is a place to discuss HIV Prevention based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors.
According to Medhelp's doctors, you are conclusively negative. Search the expert forum archives, and chose who you want to believe.
The manufacters of the tests, CDC, and FDA do not and cannot dictate how doctors practice medicine.
Wrong information again. That is not what they say and I do deal with Mass and the CDC regularly. I'm not going to argue with you because of your lack of knowledge as Dr. Hook put it to you in his reply to you.
call new york massachusetts and atlanta hotlines they will tell you and cdc is in atlanta 4 weeks is 95 persent 99 at 6 weeks 3 months if your immune surpressec chemo radiation treatment or bone marrow transplAnt recievers will take longer to sero convert
Wrong, The manufacture and the FDA sets the guidelines on the data collected on their testing research. The CDC follows the guidelines set by the manufacture and the FDA. Now if you are going to post responses make sure you know what you are talking about before replying.
yes 3 months is the guidline cdc has a 6months guidline they are being conservative 95 persent will test posotive at 4weeks do your research i didnt pull this info out my rear end
Three months is the guidelines from the manufactures and the FDA and that is what this forum goes by. There are no doctors that can change the guidelines to the test that were FDA approved.
sorry typo 6 weeks negative then posotive at 3 months not happening and you dont have leukoplackia my id doc goes to all hiv conventions with other id specialist and he said that has not been seen in years. get checked for ebv mono
that happend to me last year as the first sign off mono. i thought i had hiv also . i had unprotected vaginal sex if six weeks negative is 99 persent accurate you should test againt at 3 months. even dr.hhh will agree. any doc or clinic will say 3 months but not one case has show negative at 3 months and testing posotive at 3 months . also white tongue happens when your in the aids stage 10 years later and that doesnt happen to everyone
3 months post exposure is when you can obtain a conclusive test result.
