While Drs. Hook and Hunter were, indeed, HIV experts, those of us who respond to questions learned much from them over the years and also have our own knowledge and experience to draw on. None of us here are doctors, so if you are looking for an MD to answer your questions, I'm afraid you'll have to consult your own doctor.

I'm afraid we don't have time to give tutorials on the various possibilities of  HIV transmission, so if you have had an ACTUAL exposure of known HIV+ blood in your eye, please repost and give us the details of that exposure.

I will watch for a repost from you.

Drs. Hook and Hunter are no longer with MedHelp, but if you look to the right of your screen, you'll see a box that says "Related Forums." If you click on the "Experts" box, it will open a window and you can choose "HIV Prevention" which contain virtually all the questions and answers that have been sent to Hunter and Hook.

If you can not find exactly what you're looking for, please feel free to post your question/concern to us.
