is testing needed?

hi,
can touching the lancet needle result in hiv transmission?
the lancet needle was very sharp (non-hollow) so i am scared if it penetrated my finger because i didn't check it exactly, i didn't squeeze my finger to see blood,,,
as i can remember, the event occured accidentally about 1-2 minutes after the lancet was used by another person in a home-blood testing procedure. the person was a stranger.  is hiv testing needed?

No a lancet will not transmit HIV not even if it had been used by someone that is HIV positive before you poked yourself.
