Dear doctors,
Two weeks following an episode of oral sex (I was the insertive partner and a masseuse the receptive partner), I developed a painless enlargement of lymph nodes in the upper part of my neck (one side).
The lymph nodes are situated deep below the muscle, not just under the skin.
Lab examination of the nodes revealed a reactive hypertrophy. No other symptoms exist (no sore throat, no fever, no rash), at least for now.
I understand that insertive oral sex is not an efficient means of HIV transmition. But does the fact that the lymph nodes on the neck are enlarged two weeks following the episode, rise suspition that I contracted HIV by this penile-oral contact?
Should I ask to try tested by PCR (since it's probably too early for HIV DUO).
Thanks in advance.
