I am 29 yrs old male and had my hiv elisa test after 94 days and it resulted non-reactive/ negative. The result makes me happy. But my doctor told me to be retested in my 6th month to make it sure. Based on what I have read in your website, 3 months is like conclusive. Anyways, it is ok for me to retested in my 6th month to make it sure. It is also worth mentioning that I had protected sex during my last body contact and used condom properly.
During the 94 days, I did not have any medications. But afterwards, I had methylprednisolone and momethasone/nasonex as prescribed by my doctor. I have read in the internet that both are corticosteroid and acts like immunosuppresant? I will only take methylprednisolone 16 mg twice a day for 5 days only and momethasone/nasonex (500 mcg/g) two sprays a day for 1 month. I am worrying that it may affect my hiv test result in my 6th month? can they delay antibodies to show up or something? I don't know how long will those corticosteroid will stay in my body. But as you can see it is only for short term use.
I wish to be enlightened. I wish to move on and start a new life. I believe my non-reactive/negative hiv elisa test result after 94 days is acceptable. But why some doctor says it must be 6th month?
Thank you very much in advance to those who will give me advice here. I am so paranoid nowadays and it affects my work and schooling.
