negtive test yet white tongue

My tongue  has the white coating yet my tests negative. Please advise if antibodies can form late ( after 12 months) and what are your thoughts on PCR test vs antibody tests which i have been taking.

Tests you took look for all types of HIV. You don't have HIV.

Risk:8/3/09 the Condom broke during sex with escort.  Two weeks after the condom broke I expereinced a white /yelllowish coating on my tongue,weight lost and profuse nights sweats. The white coating on my tongue remains as well as night sweats.

Having tested many times for HIV1 via lab corp antibody test i was wondering if I should focus on HIV2. Are antibodies different when it comes HIV1 vs HVI 2, thus a different test for each.?

Having tested many times via antibody test for HIV 1 should I be testing for HIV 2 as well given the coating on tongue and night sweats?  

I took my final antibody test yesterday for HIV1 and it came back negative today via  lab corp. after 13 months. Note, I have done all my test via lab corp.

I wanted to gain your thoughts on lab corp with respect to HIV testing. That is, is lab corp good/realible when comes to HIV testings?

the white coating on your tongue is caused by a geographical tongue. look it up its caused by either depression or high stress levels i have it too because i am in the infantry and im stressed out 24/7 and plus your tests came back negative anyway just move on with life. as long as its not HIV you have nothing to worry about

I continue to have the coating on my tongue  and sweats. I recently took a DNA PCR test / antibody test via lab corp.   both test came back negative . I have been testing for HIV1 should i be testing for both HIV1 and HIV2 given symptons remain? is it possible for HIV attibodies to appear later than the  3& 6 month window period? Thanks for providing information. I took my last antibody test on 8/31/10. The test was negative despite what my body is doing ( night swaets, white tongue ). I plan to move now once and far all from this matter.

Antibodies begin production early on and everyone produces them at 3 months. YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV.

You need to move on from here and post in the anxiety community.

My tongue looks whitish too.  I had my doctor look at it and my throat 2x, and a dentist.  They said it was fine.  I went to Google and looked up pictures of thrush and oh my gosh, what I have looks absolutely nothing like that!  Just a whitish tongue.  I also have some white stuff on the sides where I remember being told by a dentist many years ago that I bite my cheek and tongue at night and should probably use a mouth guard (but I never did).  I didn't have any possible risks then, so hey, it was just one of those things.  Go look at the images on Google for thrush and you will be very comforted (I hope!)
I am sure you are just FINE!  I am worried because I had negative results at 10, 16, and 16.5 weeks - but if I were you I would not worry at all!  According to the CDC (which is very conservative) there have only been 2 cases of people developing antibodies after 12 months, and it was very extreme circumstances.

Your white tongue can be caused by several factors.
1) dead cells that do not get washed away regularly
2) Candida
3) dehydration

Here are remedies to cure the problem

Brush teeth with vegetable glycerin to whiten teeth and get rid of white tongue.
After brushing teeth and tongue, open capsule of probiotics and mix with a little warm and swish in mouth and swallow.
Drink a lot of water daily.
Rinse mouth with salt water daily.

i have been spending time with medical friends of of mine at the university hospital as a result of my own concerns-if it cannot be mistaken for a fungal infection then its highly unlikely to have any conection with what you are concerned about.

The descriptions that are usually made in this respect (white toungue) are
a ) Can be mistaken for thrush
b)  shaggy ,fuzzy, white

How fast does it grow back after scraping?

I would suggest seeing a therapist at this point. HIV is not the issue and you are still convinced that it is.

I went to an ENT DR and had my tongue checked and was told it does not look like thrush or a yeast infection. I had a cultrue done a few weeks go and it came back  negative ( nothing grew). There exist no discomfort at this time and i can scrap it off.
My latest antibody test are as follows:
8/11/10> negative  
6/08/10>negative
7/12/10> negative
4/21/10>negative
3/31/10>negative
2/24/10 >negative


I have tested so many times due to the coating on my tongue. I plan to take one last test next month.

it could indeed be something else causing it -can u feel any discomfort on your toungue ,is there some sort of build up that can be scraped off?-does it regrow?

I have tested negative 24 times so I'm thanking god .I am trying to move forward despite the white tongue concern. My negative test  tells me that it is soemthing else causeing it not HIV.

Have the same symptom but tested negative twice.  This symptom is not just related to HIV infected people.
