my local gum clinic recon that they have never known of anyone testing negative at 6 weeks who later became positive. so your 14 week test is 100% conclusive. you dont have hiv

Congrats on your conclusive negative results. Now you can put this whole thing behind you and drive on with life. 3 months is 100% conclusive according to the CDC, which always will inflate the time anyway for some extra cushion.

Should be fine. An experienced clinician with knowledge of someone's particular case may request the patient to re-attend if they have cause for concern (usually if it's clinically obvious). If they didn't you can assume you're fine.

Yes coz120, as alienshadow says 'nothing is 100%' and certainly not in any area of science or technology. What I can say with certainty is that an experienced clinician would be able to advise if follow up testing is required.

some ppl just HAVE to always cast doubt on the forum...why?  i dont know.

you are as negative as negative can get.  there is NO NEED for further testing :)

That was addressed to coz, in relation to lostone-8's question - the ONLY question that should be discussed in his thread. If coz takes it that I'm referring to his situation in this thread then he shouldn't have thread jumped
Anyway I PMed coz advice particular to his situation to keep it out this thread..

What I wrote is the general advice given by the health protection agencies which is the advice on window periods that SHOULD be given because it's based on hard science,,  epidemiological studies and fact, not on repeating what others have written on medhelp..

The minimum window period continues to be 3 months but experienced clinicians will determine if further testing is required after that based on the risks and thir clinical assessment of the patient.

Back to the original poster's question.

As it has been said several hundred time on this forum 3 months is conclusive.

It is clear enough.3 months UNLESS a clinician determines otherwise. You would know they would tell you.

If you have NSU it's because they've gone through the algorithm to determine it's cause
1 it's non gonococcal (not gonoreah bacteria)
2 it's not the main cause of NSU Chlamydia.
So that means it's non specific, I'd only be speculating on the souce of the bacteria or fungus possibly from your girl's hands or your own) and I don't have the swabs, agar plate, stain ...I can't diagnose over the nternet or at all because I'm not a Doctor. I can only give pointers

Also it's not an HIV issue so not for this forum.
