oral hairy leukoplakia - I hate Google!

Hey I feel kind of stupid for even asking this as I feel I'm only worried because FREAKIN Google'ing symptoms but I am so worried I have to. I noticed a small white patch on the side of the tongue, right near the back, it is pretty small and its more of a white bilateral line than anything and comes and goes. I first noticed it about 3 weeks ago, it disappeared for a few weeks, now its back. It's not painful or anything.

I had a white-ish tongue so I went to the doctor about 3 1/2 weeks ago and he examined my mouth, cheeks, roof, etc. and said it was nothing to worry about (I am not sure at that point if I had anything on the side of the tongue). I also went to the dentist just before I noticed the issue with the side of the tongue and I also asked him about my white tongue and he did not see anything to be worried about either.  Although again I am not sure if I had the white patch on the side of the tongue or not.

I cant even think of any HIV risk incidents in my life, I have always used a condom, known the girls I hooked up with and a condom has never broken.

I hate Google, lol. I google'd, white patch on side of tongue and all this stuff came up about OHL and HIV. And there is so much misinformation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this sound like OHL to anyone? Like can it simply be a small white bilateral line on one side the tongue and no where else?

Sorry I should point out that I know testing for HIV is the only way to know and I will def. attend to that (I am in a place right now where I won't be able to get a test for a few weeks) but just wondering specifically about people's knowledge about OHL.

You don't have an HIV concern. See your doctor if you are concern about your signs and symptoms.

If you never engaged in unprotected penerative vaginal or anal sex, or shared iv drug works then you never had a risk of hiv transmission and don,t require testing.Hiv is never diagnosed on the basis of symptoms alone. Many different infections and reactions cause similar types of symptoms not specific for hiv.Your symptoms are not related to hiv.

Stop thinking of HIV and stop googling. You had no HIV risk, let alone contracting one.
