"you have got to stay off the net. do not read anymore. it will drive you insane. and you will only find what your anxiety is wanting to find!"

THESE WERE YOUR WORDS TO SOMEONE ON THIS FORUM, 22 HOURS AGO.  TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE.

IF THE GUIDELINES HAD CHANGED...WE WOULDNT HAVE SAID 3 MONTHS.

now move along...you do not have a hiv concern

ok i understand, but i have been through it, i didnt do anything silly and didnt ask to happen what happened to me.
nobody has told me i was in a no risk situation. please can i clarify two things.

1. did i have a risk
2.it is three months after pep not 6 months. could guidelines have changed.

please dont give me time out. im a mother of a three yr old girl and an 11month girl. ive coped with them brilliantly after what happened and this website is all i have for support. i just need to know those two things. im sorry for posting excessively.

it was over three months since pep. im a gibbering wreck now, i thought i could put this horrific experience behind me after i had my results monday. the hiv specalist at the clinic said she would fall off her chair if the results came back positive and my doc said if we were both drug users he was so sure i didnt have hiv he would share the same needle straight after me. so of course when i got the result i was happy. and now after wat reallyregret has put ive gone into HIV again in my head

we cannot control the WRONG information that is put on this site.  we CAN correct it though.

3 months...NOT 6...after pep is CONCLUSIVE

Hi nataliexxx,

If your exposure had warranted the pep, you should have another test at 6 months after your exposure.

That said, your 3 months negative result, though not conclusive for someone who had pep treatment, is highly encouraging.

Wish you all the best, and take care.

May God bless
