Hi all,
Kudos to the great work. Here is my question.
I am a married, straight male in my 40's. Being married since 2009. I never had sex with anyone after my marriage.
Pre 2008, I had sex, protected, with my ex-gf a couple of times. Never got tested since I never thought I was exposed to HIV. I did visit a few massage parlors, in the US, but never had sex with anyone.
In 2009, I went through a mandatory US immigration medical checkup. This is before HIV was removed as a communicable disease from the immigration requirements.
After 10 years I am feeling the following.
1) Persistent headaches
2) blurry vision with constant tears
3) facial pain
4) a very thin oral thrush
5) constant phlegm without cough
No cover, diarrhea, site throat. Not yet
I have a year old healthy kid and my wife tested negative during her pre natal screening. Following are my questions.
1) Is it unheard of to experience the symptoms mentioned above after 10 years? I am not on any medications.
2) How robust is the HIV testing that is done for immigration purposes? I know after Jan 2010 HIV was not part of the testing process. I was yesterday in Sept 2009.
3) whats the likelihhod that I will test positive.?
Thanks in advance for all the great work.
