rash.

Hey!  First I want to say thanks for the words of comfort that Teak and others have given me in the past couple weeks.  I realize that I might take a risk of getting suspended from here since I am not "high risk".  however the risk still presents itself.

On Valentine's Day, my best friend of 18 years told me he was HIV+ after I drank out of the same glass as him and he had bit his tongue only minutes beforehand.  HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!  Obviously I was devastated to hear the news but now I'm having a slight pain when pressure is applied to my hips... I looked at them tonight and noticed they are red, barely raised... looks like a pimpe that hasn't come to a head yet and are in a cluster of about four on the left hip and one on the right.  Lymph node is still there in my groin since jan 15th.. Talked to woman who works in hospis who treats patients dying of AIDS and she says "risk is small.. BUT!!.. There's a very big but!"  She also said I was playing with fire for doing that.  You guys say otherwise.

I would be so grateful for ANY input.

Thanks

Greg

FYI: the guy had some blood on his tongue and I have had a red throat due to sinus drainage for the past month, does that not constitute being a route to the bloodstream?  The "rash" is sore and about a centimeter in diameter.  I found a fifth bump on the left thigh and a second spot on my right thigh today.  I grazed my fingers across them and they were slightly damp, although I wouldn't say they are precipitating.  I also have been searching relentlessly on the site and on Google if the ARS rash is sore and everyone just says it "doesn't itch".  this is sore when I press on it... It is around the elastic strap of my boxers, but on the left and right hips.  The forum has had so many people on here that are worried for nothing but this guy is ABSOLUTELY HIV POSITIVE and has been for four years.

In addition, I have never understood why it takes a considerable amount of the virus to infect.  If one viral cell gets in your blood stream, you're infected, correct?  Seeing as how the virus thrives off the very cells that kill invaders (lymphocytes)... Can anyone clarify this for me?

Many thanks.

Greg
