Weird Combination of Symptoms - HIV Related?

Hello,

I will be berief but thorough, in hopes somebody could help relieve some incredible anxiety I have been experiencing.  Also, would it be better for me to post this to a doctor?  I have no problem paying for it but I dont want to upset any doctors.

-- Brief Sexual History
I am 36 years old, straight white male.  I have had unprotected vaginal sex ONCE in my life, in fact it was when I was a virgin. I was 21, and she was a virgin too, also 21.  Then no sex for YEARS.  Then between the ages of about 28 and 35, I had about 20 to 25 partners. Sometimes I got lucky in clubs with one night stands, and about half of these encounters were call girls (VERY VERY VERY STUPID, I know).  The encounters included: 1) deep kissing, including a few of the calls girls 2) hand jobs (including from the call girls), 3) receiving unprotected oral (including from the call girls), 4) giving unprotected oral, including to about 4 or 5 of the call girls 5) fingering including some of the call girls 6) vaginal sex, including with the call girls -- CONDOMS ALWAYS USED for vaginal sex 5) anal sex, with 2 of the call girls -- CONDOMS USED for anal sex.  I have not been tested for STDs, but I know I must do so now, and would appreciate the sincerity of any response in the meantime.

Haven't had vaginal or anal sex with any women for at least a year now.  But I have fingered and kissed a few girls in the past year.

-- Recent Symptoms that Have Me Worried

1) One morning in January of 2010 I woke up with intense vertigo.  It ended in about 4 or 5 mins, but was followed by a very brutal headache that lasted all day.  Vertigo relapsed over the next 5 to 8 weeks with certain head movements.  Also had recurring ear ringing, ear stuffiness, very slight ear pains, and headaches.  Saw 2 ENT doctors that ran a test to check my ear/eyes/braiin balance system -- results were normal.  They also did a CAT scan and MRI scan to check for tumors, strokes, etc --- results were normal.  They also of course just checked my ears, and saw nothing out of the ordinary.  They concluded I probably had labryrinthitis and benign positional vertigo.  I was treated for the benign positional vertigo and it worked -- it's gone.  But I still feel ear ringing, ear stuffiness, and headaches to this day --- about 2 and a half months after waking up that one morning with the vertigo.

2) For about 6 months I have been getting this recurring hand rash.  On the palm side it appears as red dots scattered UNDER the skin.  On the back of the hand and in the finger webs it appears as slightly raised red pimple-like dots.  Sometimes they cluster to form larger red dots.  They dont blister or look like they have any fluid in them.  Break out typically is preceded by itching, but once the rash appears, it doesnt really itch at all.  The rash stays for a few days, then vanishes, and it looks like nothing ever happened.  Then it recurrs (unpredictably as to when).  Saw a dermatologist today actually, and he said he was "stumped" -- did not know what it was.  He took a small chunk of it for a biopsy, and said he will also test for syphilis.  (I guess it is conceivable I have secondary syphilis, but I just dont think there is any way I would have missed the primary stage that includes the chancre sore).  Dermatologist will get back to me early next week with results.

Questions I would love some insight on:

1) Does any of this sound like STDs, including HIV?
2) Any thoughts on the possibility of it being syphilis?

Thank you.

Dear Lizzie Lou---

I just wanted to write once more, to let you and this community know that today I went to an STD clinic for a HIV test.  I was scared beyond belief.

But the results were NEGATIVE.  You were right.  After the stupid things I have done in my life (see my story above), I am negative.

Thank you so much for your contribution to this forum -- I've read your story and LOTS of your posts.  You are a strong woman.

All the best.

nothing that you have described put you at risk for hiv.

this forum is hiv specific and all other std questions should be addressed on the std forum.
