Weren't all strains contained to rural parts of deep Africa at one time? Vance, appreciate your responses. After seeing many questions resembling my concerns, is there any known virus/infection that others have come back and been diagnosed with that is not HIV? Or are there many "worried well" with these symptoms and no explanation?
Because rare strains are contained to rural parts of deep Africa and only a handful have been reported. But again all modern testing picks up all strains. If you have sex with someone from Cameroon then you can be concerned about a rare strain.
Sorry, should have been more specific. By "other strain" I meant group N. Why is it so easily dismissed?
What do you mean "other strains" of HIV? All modern testing picks up all strains and conclusive tests outweigh symptoms.
Vance, I definitely understand what your saying about there being "100 different things not related to HIV" that can be the cause. The problem is that when one looks up these symptoms they all, in combimation, point towards HIV and not 100 different things... I know that there are reasons why questions of "other strains" are quickly dismissed, can you enlighten me and many others as to why? And any idea as to any other virus, std that have these same characteristics?
See a Dr, if you did not know ARS is non-specific and symptoms can be 100 different things not related to HIV.
What do I make of all the symptoms at around the time ars usually takes place? Is there another virus that will still be keeping me from feeling normal after 5 months?
No, your 92 day test is fine. HIV negative you are.
Thanks, would a 6 month test be warranted??
Others who have been answering questions, like joggen, teak, vance, etc, will tell you that you are fine, especially after three months. Go in for the ELISA test if you're still unsure or anxious, but chacnes are you probably just have some flu, non-HIV related. And, unless you've had a history of a weak or slow immune systems, the tests that you've already performed are solid.
Also, aside from the unprotected vaginal, getting a blowjob does not put you at risk.
mate i went for my 6 month test, i'll let you know how it goes. :)
