To all moderators Just one last question. Do you guarantee that I'm 100% negative from transmission? Because I'm planning to get an HIV test here in Saudi. I'm afraid that if I turn positive they will inform the authorities and will investigate me they can have me arrested because what I did was a homosexual act. it is punishable here. That's why before I get a test I want to make sure what will I expect. Thank you.

I asked that because I've read that in the studies they've done about oral sex most of the particpants there are women. I'm just wondering what if the virus is more infectious in men (gay) than the women because saliva and hormones  of men are different from women?

It doesn't matter if you swallowed semen or not, you still did not have a risk!!

We can't keep going round and round.  Accept our advice or not.  If you don't, that's fine, then take a test and be done with it.  There's nothing else we can tell you!

If you read what was written you would understand. I had all the "symptoms" after oral sex in the right time frame, I was in bed for a week, but the fact is I wasn't at risk. Calm down this ain't good for you

Thank you nusegirl. But what I'm worrying is that I swallowed the semen which adds risk to the transmission. I'm afraid that the phlegm on my throat when I had that oral sex will mix with the HIV Virus if it is present.

Sigh.

If you would have read the forum, you would see that one...oral sex is never a risk, and two, we don't typically discuss symptoms because they are not a proper indicator or status.  Only an HIV test will tell someone who had a risk (you didn't) if they are infected or not.

ARS symptoms in newly infected people are severe.  It's like having a horrible flu for 1-2 weeks.  You would most likely be in bed, you would be that sick.  There is almost ALWAYS an associated HIGH fever with ARS symptoms (over 101-102).  Other symptoms can include swollen lymph nodes in many areas of the body, a diffuse rash, drenching night sweats.  Symptoms come on all at once, and stop all together, they are not staggered.  Many newly infected people never have one symptom, others get very sick with textbook ARS symptoms.  This is why they are just not a good indicator, they are too inconsistent.

You didn't have a risk.  If you choose to believe you did, then get tested.  Your result will be negative.

Really? I'm very much worried about my nose bleeding and diarrhea. Another question. Why is it that the other website says that there's a risk for oral sex especially if you swallowed semen? I really don't know what to do. I'm still in the window period that's why I'm very observant of the possible symptoms that I'm experiencing now. ;(
