The clinic suggested and started me on hep b and c shots. I go back for the second round of those in a week or so. I will have a final blood test then and also tell them of the symptoms I am experiencing. I will keep you informed. There is something wrong with my glands and throat. Maybe its anxiety causing it.
The blood tests say its not HIV. This possible exposure with the urethritis that was tested negative to all STI's, to the symptoms of HIV that are negative in three blood tests, has driven me to the point of insanity.
Unfortunately the symptoms I seem to be having are preventing me from being rational and trusting the science of pathology
In the medical world, they can never say "no risk" that is why they use "low risk" but when it comes to HIV and oral sex they mean the same thing. You were not at risk.
all I can read is that oral sex is a low risk of being infected. Not no risk.
I do agree with you about the symptoms and testing positive James D !
My nerves are shot
If your symptoms were related to HIV, you would have tested positive.
Studies have been done to prove that oral sex is not a risk for infection. You were also given good information by the nurse you spoke to. You do not have HIV.
The sexual health clinic I attended felt my exposure...........or risk........was worth testing. I am very concerned because of the on going symptoms I am having :(
For the sake of honesty I will admit that I have not tested positive to any STI so far.
I wish I were as confident as you LIZZIE LOU !!
I have read where unprotected oral is "low" risk.............not "no" risk ?
I have since posting today tried to look at it from another angle. From testing negative on days 25 , 30 and 47.............the chances of being a false negative would be so high it would be almost ridiculous would it not?
Its just these swollen nodes in my neck and arms that are giving me such anxiety about it all. Something is very wrong with me. Unfortunately I am struggling to look past an exposure.
