I have been living in china for a couple of years. I am white heterosexual circumcised male in my 30's. In the past year i have had unprotected sex 3 times with chinese girls. They were all accidental due to condoms slipping off. The last time was 12 weeks ago and the next morning i noticed she was having her period and there was blood on my penis. Since then my testicles have felt sore and there is an occasional ( once or twice a week ) itching sensation inside my penis. I have had reoccurring dreams that i have become HIV positive and can't shake the feelings. I am supposed to get an annual HIV test this week for my chinese work visa. I am paranoid it will come up positive. I would rather get an anonymous test than have a government chinese doctor tell me I am hiv positive then deport me. I have read the board and read the chances of vaginal transmission is low but it does still happen. Does hiv get transmitted more effectively in menstrual blood?  Am I at high risk should I go ahead with the chinese test or fly back to the usa and get tested there first to be sure.

If your condoms keep slipping off try choosing a type and size that fits or if they are slipping off due to erectile dysfunction see your Doctor about it or if you are carryng on after ejaculation don't. Maybe none of the above are applicable but the problem is something you need to consider to avaoid the situation in th future.

Neither one of you should be losing a moments sleep from this.  Do you worry about lightning hitting you? Or slipping on some chinese noodle soup and breaking your head open on the sidewalk?  You have a better chance of both those things happening than getting HIV.  Come on.

Man, I am in the same situation like you. Also in China, also afraid of getting tested here due to my work visa and residence permit. I finally decided to fly back home to do the test in my much more liberal home country.

But as snippets said, your risk was not extremely high. So you can maybe risk to do the test here in China or you go to HK. Hope, you will be okay.

You are way over reacting man.  Yes, any blood present is going to make transmission easier but that doesn't mean you're anywhere near high risk for HIV.

Transmission male to female is 1/2000 IF the person has HIV.
