I had a test at six weeks and ten weeks. Both were negative. I guess I need one more to meet the three month window period. However, I am not sure if twelve weeks or thirteen weeks would be considered conclusive. three months can be interpreted as either. I will be 36 weeks pregnant at the twelve week mark and would like to go ahead and do the test. The longer I wait the more chance I have of going into labor without a conclusive result. My doctor doesn't seem to know about the other types of testing available. They are using the LabCorp HIV 1/0/2 ICMA antibody test. I can't get a lot of information on this test. I know it is not an ELISA and that really bothers me. I had a full std panel done at 6 weeks from exposure and then an hiv only test at ten weeks. I am going to ask for another full std panel at 12 weeks to include another hiv antibody test.
1. For hiv, is 12 weeks conclusive or do I need to wait until 13 weeks?
2. Is Labcorps ICMA hiv 1/0/2 ICMA antibody test as sensitive and accurate as a 3rd generation ELISA?
3. Is it likely that a negative 10 week test will change or should I feel pretty confident that my results will still be negative?
thank you for your input.
