Head injury

My husbadn hit his head on the bottom of the pool a week ago.  He floated up and I had to bring him up out of the water.  He stated he was fine and fought to get awa from me.  He then passed out 3 more time and was acting loopy.  he had an indent in hes forhead.  He has had over 20 concussions in the past.  He has been very emotional and grouchy.  He started complaing that his head was hurting worse and worse and today he sadi he was having a hard time getting out of bed.  He said he feels weak, dizzy and he is seeing 2 of everything.  He also informed me that he has a bitter tasting drainage coming from his nose and running down the back of his throat.  He wont go to the doctor because he said they wont do anything for him.  WHat can I do?

HELLO AGAIN, SO RELIEVED TO HEAR YOUR HUBBY WAS SEEN BY DOCTORS. I AM WONDERING HOW HE IS FEELING, IS HE STILL FEELING BAD? I AM CONCERNED THAT HE MAY STILL HAVE SOMETHING GOING ON. YOU HAVE STATED THAT HE HAS HAD MANY CONCUSSIONS BEFORE, HAS HE EVER BEEN AS SICK WITH ONE? IF HE IS STILL FEELING BAD I THINK I WOULD QUESTION IF HE HAS HURT HIS NECK WHEN HITTING HIS HEAD. MANY PEOPLE HAVE SUFFERED CRITICAL NECK INJURIES FROM DIVING IN A POOL. WAS HIS NECK CHECKED? JUST A THOUGHT. ALSO I NOTICE YOU MENTIONED THE FACT YOU ARE DREADING A BIG HOSPITAL BILL.BEING THAT I HAVE NO MED INSURANCE AND MANY MEDICAL ISSUES MYSELF, I KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE IT CAN BE. MOST HOSPITALS HAVE A CHARITY FUND TO HELP PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY THEIR MED BILL. LOOK INTO THIS (THEY DONT MAKE IT KNOWN) ASK THEM ABOUT IT! BEST OF LUCK.

Glad he is kinda ok. Hope things go well with the specialist. It is better to be without money than to be without a husband. ;) Best wishes, Sissie

After reading your post my husband decided it would be good to get checked out.  The ER did a CAT Scan and found that he did have a concussion, but there was no leak.  SHe sent him home and told him to follow up with a cuncussion specialist this week.  He is a little frustrated because all they did was look at him and then send him home and now we will be out over 2,000 dollars, but I feel better and I can tell he does too.  Thanks for your help.

YOU TELL YOUR STUBBORN HUBBY HE IS GOING TO THE ER WHETHER YOU DRIVE HIM OR THE AMBULANCE TAKES HIM. THAT YOU LOVE HIM, AND HE HAS 5 MINUTES TO SAY HOW HE IS GOING CAR OR AMBULANCE. TELL HIM THIS IS ONE ARGUMENT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE HAVING. HE MAY BE MAD BUT WHAT'S HE GONNA DO HE IS TOO SICK TO FIGHT YOU . TELL THE PARAMEDICS HE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO THINK STRAIGHT OR REMEMBER THINGS.YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE HIS SOLE ADVOCATE AND FIGHT FOR HIM, NO BACKING DOWN FROM HIM OR THE DOCS MAKE THEM LISTEN TO YOU !!!!!DO IT NOW PLEASE
