Headache

Yesterday, while working on my computer, I suddenly couldn't tolerate the light from the monitor (eyes very painful) .. sudden attack of headache and felt like vomiting.  My body became weak and just had to go lie down. Fell into a long deep sleep and felt better when awoke.  This morning at about 3am I felt the headache again and felt like throwing up.  Pls advice.

Hi,

Your symptoms could be due to excessive eye strain and fatigue. It is quite possible that you have poor eyesight.
Another possibility is migraine. Did you have pain on one side of the head or both the sides?
What is the nature of this headache? Is it throbbing or dull?
Please elaborate. Please rest and take OTC pain killers and avoid caffeine. Take care!

How are you?

It seems to be a case of ocular migraine or glaucoma. Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve. Do you have a family history of glaucoma?

Glaucoma has been nicknamed the "sneaky thief of sight" because the loss of visual field often occurs gradually over a long time and may only be recognized when it is already quite advanced.

Diagnosis can be made by tonometry, ophthalmoscopy or perimetry.

In opthalmoplegic migraine, lateralized pain (often around the eye) is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and diplopia (double vision). Opthalmoplegic migraine is rare. It is due to nerve palsy (weakness). More common causes of painful ophthalmoplegia are internal carotid artery aneurysms and diabetes.

Pls get an urgent appointment from an ophthalmologist for an early diagnosis and treatment.

In case you need any more information, pls post us.

Please go see a doctor immediately. Take care of yourself. It could be signs of something more serious, especially when you experienced vomiting and sensitivity to light. Or it could be nothing at all. Have it check out.
