Hemmorragic stroke & blood clots

Hi.  This is my first time to post.  I had a Hemmoragic stroke two years ago when I was 54.  The doctors found that I had blood clots in my arm on the affected side and performed surgery to remove the clots.  They said they had no idea what caused the stroke or the blood clots.  They said tha blood clots could not cause a Hemmorrragic stroke and that having  clotting and bleeding at the same time is extremely unusual.  Have you heard of this?  I have always had very low-normal Chlorestrol levels and blood pressure.  The only warning I had was dizziness that caused me to go to Minor

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Hemorrhagic stroke is caused by bleeding into the brain. Clots in the arms could be a part of peripheral artery disease and this will not cause strokes. It can cause a pain in the arm, make the arm turn bluish but will usually not cause any neurological problem. Hence these are two different things. Peripheral artery disease is caused by diabetes, high platelet count, clotting disorders, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol etc.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
