SDH recovery after left FTP craniotomy

My dad had a head Injury which lead to SDH of 13mm thickness in left frontotemporoparietal convexity and SAH in bilateral sulcal spaces and in right sylvian fissure . He underwent a Left FTP craniotomy. My question specifically is he was discharged from hospital and the CT Scan done on the day of discharge specifies he has SDH of 5.1mm which is reduced from the size during admission to hospital and also it says an increase in size of left basifrontal hemorrhagic contusions

Will this have to be treated again or have to give time for recovery and being at home is advisable. He can identify everyone but he has problems in making conversations and most of the time he is sleeping and gets tired soon. there is a difference in the way he speaks.
Please advise he needs attention furture or allowing time to heal is advised.
