We have less access to coconut in the states---- especially in my Midwestern town. Could shredded coconut be used in place ( I know, poor substitute) or what do you recommend?
It freezes well. I make large quantity then freeze. We often eat it for breakfast with papaya.
Sure. Flaked coconuts are fine. Doesn't the supermarket sell fresh coconuts? We have them in the produce section in CA. There a hassle to open though. My guy wields a machete !!
I'm not sure if we have coconuts or not! I'll have to check. It's not too common here . .. I'm afraid I wouldn't know what to do once I got it open. We don't have a machete . . . husband would have to use an axe. ha, could be scary!
You can google it. I think you drive a screwdriver into the coconut eyes.
That would be a fun project! My kids would think it is cool!
