I agree that you should get a second opinion. I did. However, I also think it's important to understand that IF your daughter really needs hearing aids, it will only be beneficial to her. I did not have mine in school, though I also had a diagnosed hearing loss. I withdrew socially, that was easier than not hearing direct questions my friends asked, having to ask for everything to be repeated, etc. Now, I wish I would have gotten them much sooner than I did. I also, always excelled in school despite my 60% hearing loss. Amazingly, I was in honors classes through 10th grade. I just wanted to reassure you, that yes, hearing loss can have dramatic impact on your life. But living without hearing, is not really living at all!
I think you should consult a proper audiologist before getting in to any hearing aids n all...Consult any other audiologist who is not selling hearing aids...
