Frequency Loss

I have frequency losses in both ears. Left ear is worse than right ear. Some of the loss is amplitude, some is total. I am on my  fourth extended trial having tried out among others Phonak and Starkey. All of the trials results in increased amplitude, in other words I can play the TV at a lower amplitude, but so far none of them give me clarity of speeech. Many voice sounds are blurred. I function well in a controlled emvironment, such as work, where the language and subject are familiar, but don't hear well when communicating with/on unfamiliar subjects All the hearing aids I've tried are above $5k. None of them are satisfactory. No medical conditions exist. I've been tested by MDs, I just don't hear. Do you believe I can be helped with mechanical/electrical help?

Hi and welcome to the hearing loss community!

Please do look into cochlear implants. Speak with an audiologist about whether you would be a candidate.

Also, you can check out the different options. The brands are Cochlear, Advanced Bionics, and Med-El. Maybe google them to learn more.

Please let us know how it goes!

I wouldn't give up yet.  Has anyone spoken to you about whether they think cochlear implants are a possibility?

I heard of a click hearing aid system and please see a private message for more info on that one- they claim they are supposed to adjust to your listening environment automatically.
