Please help! Complete hearing loss from one side

Hello, I hope someone can give me some advice because I am starting to panic and I really need it.

My boyfriend got a kick to the side of his head while training with some friends on Sunday and came back home claiming he couldn't hear from one ear. He did not have any other symptoms, no dizziness and no discharge.

He went to see his GP yesterday and they said his eardrum is intact. They told him to go back to see a doctor in 3-4 days if there is no improvement.

He's at work now and apparently the ear is still completely deaf. I am starting to worry a lot. Since his eardrum is fine, what could it be?? Maybe they broke something inside his head? Will it be reversible? Is there any chance it might get better on its own even though it hasn't in two full days??

I am really concerned he might have lost half of his hearing because of a stupid training session. He really needs to hear properly in his job and I'm scared this might affect him.

What does anyone think?

Thank you so very much in advance for any reply.
