Thank you for your resposes. I do have a positive attitude and want to live along llife and see my 4 year old grandson grow to be a man. I was diagnosed on Dec 01. 2010 my ef was 40% at that time, I had an echo on tuesday and my ef is 30% so I am getting scared.
I am seeing a new cardiologist on the 4th of Feb and hope he can give me some encouragement. Thanks for your help. Nancy
You may want to ask your doctor or in the heart disease expert forum since this is a member's community and your question may have gotten put here because that forum is full. I think your prognosis depends on your individual circumstances and overall health and what else is wrong.

Sometimes, it takes a few days to find that a question can be answered there - try at different times of the day and see if a physician can answer your question =)
I developed Non-ischemic CM at the age of 42, after they found I have malignant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and luckily, my ef stablized and has remained at 40% even though I do have symptoms.
Welcome!
I have cardiomyopathy since 2003. I am on medication. Planning to stay alive until 85.:) Unfortunately had friends , were not that lucky ... alived 6-7 years, but we are all different ,our life style ,both: what we had before and also after diagnosed and yes … attitude .:) ….I hope you won’t be hurt by that saying : have good positive attitude .
