25yr f chest pains info??

hiya, i know i cannot get an online diagnosis but i was hoping for some information or a 'heads up'on the possibilities as i have an app for tuesday. It has been worrying me for a few weeks

I went to the bar with my sister, i was really angry at my partner as her wasn't back in time which made me and friends really late so it was a mad rush to get to the pub before the doors closed!

when i got to the pub i got an awful pain across the top of my chest above the breasts,it was in the centre radiating sideways a bit, it was really tight and felt like some-one was sitting on me! It made me quite short of breath. i actually had to sit there and hold my chest! i said to my sister that i had to go, i was thinking about getting a taxi to the hospital (it's app 4 miles away) then the pain went, it lasted between 10 to 15 min. this has happened to me before but only about 3 times

before i had put it down to some kind of asthma attack but thinking about it is making me worried as i do have a family history of heart disease and i'm supposed to get my lipids checked , my uncle died at 26 and my granda also died young both to do with heart attacks(both fathers side). I am 25 years old mum of 4 and a smoker, (i had given up at this point for 3 onths) but i started again

Do u think it COULD be a heart problem, i understand u can't say much without tests, but on desciption any possibilities?

thanks in advance

Thank you for the update. Stress can tighten up the muscles; that's how we get nasty headaches and frowny faces. So the doc wants you to do deep breathing for relaxation? That does work. Staying away from stress inducing people helps too but I know we can't always avoid that. Just take good care of yourself, OK?

hiya, just to update i went to my gp today, he listened to my heart, checked bp blah blah and said he thought my muscles in my chest had all tightened up due to the stress and if it happens again to breathe it out, so he has the same idea as yourself.

I just thought i would give you an update as the problem with the internet is plenty of people ask questions but they never 'finish the story' as for the lipids i never mentioned it as i didn't want to sound like a hypocondriac lol :)

Thanks again k xx

thanks for your quick responce,

I haven't had my lipids checked yet, as i am always either pregnant or post natal!! it sounds funny but as i said i am only 25 but have had 7 pregnancies 3 ended in miscarriage, so everytime i bring up getting them checked i get told no due to pregnancy, or a recent c-section(3rd).   i asked for it to be done about 9 months ago, but i was told no as i had a c-section 3 months before also i had pre eclampsia and hypertension post natal with high uric acid levels(post eclampsia or something)for about 3 and half months.

I will request one on tuesday, thanks for help

I can't believe I'm saying this but could it have been from the stress, anger and anxiety you were feeling at the moment?  It bothers me when a woman goes in to have chest pain checked out only to be brushed off with the anxiety diagnosis. In the news recently there's been quite a bit of discussion about the differences in treatment between men and women with heart problems. So this concern isn't just in my mind. But considering the circumstances at the moment for you, perhaps it was the stress.

Also, since your family has a history of heart problems make sure your doctor knows and they can start monitoring your heart and lipids sooner rather than later (like after 40). You said you are supposed to get them checked. The question is - have you?
