2D echo interpretation

Can anyone explain me about the result of my 2D echo?, though there is a conclusion in the result but I can't understand, so I hope anyone will help me regarding the result.

2D ECHO INTERPRETATION:

Normal left ventricular dimension with adequate wall motion and contractility. however, the inter-ventricular septum appears flattened in diastole suggestive of right ventricular volume overload.

Dilated left atrium without thrombus.

Normal right ventricle, right atrium, main pulmonary artery and aortic root dimensions.

Thickened mitral valves leaflets with doming motion of arterior mitral valve leaflet into left ventricle in diastole. The posterior mitral valve leaflet appears fixed and upright. The postermedial commissureis partially fused but anteromedial commisure is open. there is minimal subvalvar involvement.

Thickened aortic valve cusp w/o restriction of motion.
Structurally normal tricuspid valve and pulmonic valve.
Minimal pericardial effusion.
Incidentally, pleural effusion is also noted.

Doppler:

Normal E:A ratio in the mitral valve and tricuspid valve/
Mitral stenosis, moderate with mitral valve area of 1.29cm by preassure half time and 1.28cm by planimetry with peak gradient of 28mmHg.
Mitral regurtation, mild.
Tricuspid regurtation, moderate.
Mild pulmonary hypertension (pulmonary artery pressure =45mmHg by TR jet.)

CONCLUSION:

Rheumatic Heart Disease, moderate mitral stenosis.
Mitral regurtation, mild. Tricuspid regurtation, moderate.
Mild pulmonary hypertension PAP =45mmHg TR jet.

this was taken last june 22, 2009 after giving birth with my baby.

and I would like to know what are the things I should avoid, is the result so scary? I couldnt really understand the result, I know what RHD is but i dont know more about th other result is. please help me guys. thanks..

Thank GOD, it was okay.. anyway my cardiologist once told me, that I should under a surgery because the flowing of the blood, oxygen of my heart is narrowed below average, it might complicate in the future..

based on the information you have provided. I don't see any medical problems of immediate concerns.  Tricuspid regurgitation, moderate. Mild pulmonary hypertension PAP =45mmHg TR jet is something to be watched, but not of any immedicate concern if ever.

What was the surgery going to help?

Thanks for your help, and do you have any idea what medical assistance should I have?

Mitral valve is the one-way pass of blood from the left atrium (upper chamber) to the left chamber, and the valve closes with leaflets to prevent back flow of blood when the left ventrical pumps (systole). There is mild leakage (regurg), but mild indicates no medical problem and insignificant.

Moderate mitral valve stenosis indicates there is a narrowing of the valve opening.  That can cause the upper chamber (left atrium to enlarge) to enlarge..

Tricuspid valve: That is the valve on the right side of the heart, between the right atrium and the right ventricle which normally stops the backflow. There  is moderate leakage and could be a problem or not...Mild pulmonary hypertension is also associated with the right side of the heart.  The right pumping chamber is pumping against higher than normal resistance indicated by pulmonary artery pressure (PAP).  The higher PAP can be due to lung clots (embolism) and/or pulmonary artery thrombosis (blood clot) or other conditions diagnosed by your doctor.

Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Thanks for the question, take care.
