Hi, I am a 20 year old male, and I eat fairly healthy. Sometimes I will have a smoke or two, when I drink (sometimes can drink a fair bit), around twice a month. I weigh 180 lbs, and am 5'10. Last year I was 211 lbs and I lost 33 pounds through diet and exercise. (down to 177)
Today I went and got my blood pressure checked at on one of those machines at the drug store. The results came back with 130/56, and 61 pulse. This isn't usual as before I was at 124/72
I have had bronchitis (so the doctor says is most likely) for over a month now, and I was wondering if this could be the reason, or if there's something I should be concerned about.
In addition, I have been dealing with anxiety and stress for around 5 months now. I just started to exercise again recently, and have noticed some odd things happening.
I was running, not very long, for 10 minutes, at 5mph. Afterwards, while I was in the shower, when I had my left arm raised, I felt a shooting pain in the inside of it. This pain was fleeting, it only lasted about 1 or 2 seconds. I felt it again another 2 times later that night.
Also, I have done p90x before, and quit. Recently (about a month or so ago) I tried to start again, and noticed that I was feeling tightness in my chest while doing pushups or any exercises with my head bent over, or where I had to bend over.
Last year I had an echocardiogram done because my doctor heard a palpitation during a routine checkup. Afterwards, in the next school year, during september, I had another echocardiogram done and a stress test. All the tests came back clean.
The same year, later that summer, I had a massive panic attack while I was on vacation. Ever since I've been dealing with stress/anxiety. Only recently I've been able to manage it. I don't have any full blown panic attacks, but I still deal with some minor anxiety/stress that comes in intervals, and can sometimes be unpredictable.
I havn't told my doctor about the shooting pain, the tightness in my chest yet or the anxiety, because I kind of feel embarassed.
As far as I know, my family has no history of heart disease.
What do you think?
