Hello and hope you are doing well.
Usually for any imaging studies a comparison is made with the normal side to detect any deviations from normal or abnormalities. If there are soft tissue abnormalities, it should be picked up by the MRI. But lets hope there are no abnormalities.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I had an MRI on Tuesday I haven't heard anything from my Dr. yet he said if it didn't show anything bad he would tell me at my next appointment in 3 weeks and if it did show something bad he would make an appointment to get me into a specialist. When they were doing the MRI they came in and asked to feel my right shoulder which is the one that is not hurt.Do you think something could have showed up? I am holding out hope that something showed up I really want to know what is causing me this pain. Thanks!!
Hello and hope you are doing well.
The rotator cuff is a group of muscles in the shoulder, connecting the upper arm (humerus) to the shoulder blade (scapula). So, it could be the area you are referring to. And it could cause referred pain to the chest. An MRI will help to detect lesions in the rotator cuff.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
The pain is probably in the area of the Manubrium into the back and chest area and left arm do you think it is my Rotator cuff?I am not sure where everything is located in the body so I don't know where exactly the pain is or what is causing it.My Dr. told me that Rotator cuff injuries cause chest pain.Do they really?
Would an MRI show what could be the matter?
Hello and hope you are doing well.
As you have pain on picking up objects, it could be due to rotator cuff disorder. The pain could also be due to other causes like Tendinitis, in which inflammation of the tendons can produce similar pain. Arthritis or bursitis can produce pain in the joints. Arthritis is inflammation of the joints. Bursa are sac like structures above and below the joints which helps in the movement of the tendons around the joints. These can get inflamed causing bursitis. Treatment can be initiated only after a confirmed diagnosis. I would advise you to consult your primary care physician for evaluation of pain. In the meantime avoid exercise as this could aggravate the pain and take OTC Naproxen for pain relief.
